"Misery, Inc."

Written by: Daegan Fryklind     Directed by: Matt Sinclair-Foreman

With no job prospects and Yuri pressuring her for the rent money, Sault takes a temporary position at Strategic Consolidated to make ends meet. The greige wasteland is brightened when Sault meets her match, the verbally venomous Perry Sound. It's like looking into a mirror and seeing a wittier, nastier version of herself - only one she can have sex with, too. When a bed-headed Perry and Sault encounter Geoff and Stanley at Pendrell Market, Sault's buoyed by Perry's ability to well, parry, with Stanley. The enchantment continues until Sault learns that she's been turned down for a writing gig and Perry suggests that she join Strategic Consolidated full-time. Sault is momentarily tempted, but comes to her senses and instead suggests that Perry leave Strategic Consolidated with her - they can realize their dreams together. Only then does it become clear that Perry has no dreams - only vitriol. Suddenly Sault doesn't like looking in this particular mirror - and she has to make a tough choice between having love, or having a life.

All the food, snacks, drinks, trinkets, etc. that comprises the Pendrell Market was donated by various companies in exchange for their brands appearing in the series. At the end of production, Robson Arms in turn donated the entire contents of the fictional store to worthy charities, namely the Vancouver Food Bank and the Launching Pad Addictions Rehabilitation Society.
